Max Verstappen is greatly admired by Jurgen Klopp. During his presentation as Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer, the former Borussia Dortmund coach and manager of Liverpool stated that he would like to have a conversation with the Dutch world champion. Red Bull revealed last year that former Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, and Mainz manager Klopp had been hired for a brand-new position collaborating with Red Bull's soccer teams worldwide.
He is in charge of all Red Bull's activities, including those in Leipzig, Salzburg, and New York. Football was, therefore, the main topic of his presentation on Tuesday, but he did take a moment to discuss Verstappen. Klopp, 57, admits that he still has a lot to learn even though he has effectively assumed what he refers to as an "advisory role." Verstappen, the four-time Formula 1 World Champion for Red Bull, is another individual from whom he could learn something.
Jurgen Klopp and Max Verstappen are somewhat of a team, and the German would be delighted to speak with the four-time Formula One winner. In 2021, he withstood tremendous pressure to win his first World title in a close battle with Lewis Hamilton that was decided on the final lap of the season. The previous season, he had to fend off a challenge from Lando Norris.
I would not coach a Red Bull team - Jurgen Klopp
One of the most important questions, when Klopp arrived, was if he was eager to return to management in the future, aside from his meet-and-greets with Verstappen and Red Bull's other well-known athletes. "There are so many things to talk about! Not just how focused he is, but all kinds of things." He continued, "It’s really crazy. I would love to spend time with him to understand how he can do that under the threat of 200mph in a car and still be in his absolute best mindset. Super interesting," Klopp told Sky Sports.
Although he has stated that he is fully committed to the task at hand, Jurgen Klopp immediately dismissed the proposal. He went on: "I have made it obvious that I would not coach a Red Bull team. Although Klopp is still learning the ropes, he hasn't been hesitant to stir up controversy with his candid evaluation of his managerial prospects. Red Bull Salzburg is scheduled to compete in the forthcoming Club World Cup, which the 2019 Champions League winner launched a full-scale attack on.
