Red Bull driver Yuki Tsundoa has now revealed his first goal as a Red Bull driver, it is not helping Max Verstappen. Liam Lawson was thrown out of the team earlier this week after failing the first two races as a Red Bull driver. The young Kiwi's dream to drive a Red Bull car was cut short after just two races in Australia and China. The new Zealander couldn’t perform as expected for the team. The top-level management discussed in Dubai and made the big decision to swap Liam with Yuki from the 2025 F1 Japanese Grand prix.
Yuki Tsunoda is a much-deserved driver than Liam Lawson because he has been with the team since the 2021 season. After a very long wait, Tsunoda has now received his promotion and that too in emergency circumstances. He will be with the team for the entire season, which is very good for a driver of that capability. But Yuki Tsunoda’s first goal was not helping Max verstappen. In a recent interview, he revealed his plan for his first race with Red Bull.
Yuki Tsunoda's goal as Red Bull driver
Yuki said, “I don’t want to raise expectations too much, but for this Japanese GP, I want to finish on the podium.” The Suzuka circuit is the home circuit for Tsunoda, as he raced there thousands of times. So, performing in front of his home fans and finishing on the podium will be the greatest debut for the Japanese driver.
Red Bull is desperate to try new things to make their car more competitive against McLaren and Mercedes. They wanted to help Max Verstappen close the gap against Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. That is why they decided to replace Liam with Yuki. They also aim for the constructor's title, and without the help of the second driver, the Formula 1 constructors' championship couldn’t be achieved. So they want a performing driver as a teammate of Max Verstappen, and Yuki is the best driver next to verstappen at the Red Bull camp.
