VCARB F1 team replaced Daniel Ricciardo with Liam Lawson after the Singapore GP. The internet went abuzz and many fans felt sad for Daniel’s exit from the F1 and came in support of the Australian Driver. Now, the new RB team driver Liam Lawson has said he didn't enjoy being on the sidelines at the Singapore GP after Daniel Ricciardo’s exit saga.

Liam Lawson didn't like Singapore weekend

On Thursday, Red Bull’s junior team confirmed that Liam Lawson will take over from Daniel Ricciardo as the team's new driver from the US GP for the rest of the season. Liam Lawson was asked how he felt that weekend and said “Not good, honestly. Singapore was not an enjoyable weekend for me, because we all knew what was coming.”

The New Zealander also said he didn't get any negative feelings from Ricciardo at any time.  While talking about Ricciardo Liam Lawson said “Daniel has always been very good to me in a lot of ways when I drove last year. Even this season, I’ve never felt in competition with him or anything like that. It wasn't a nice feeling (in Singapore). He said ‘You need to make the most of it.’"

Red Bull decided to replace Ricciardo even before the Singapore GP. So Daniel was well aware of what was coming and he already knew the Singapore GP would be his last race. Lawson’s contract had to be made on the same day as the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and the team knew he would replace Ricciardo in the future. Now Lawson and Tsunoda will race together for the RB team. They are seen as the future drivers of Red Bull Racing.

Red Bull driver Sergio Perez is also facing difficult times as he is struggling to get pace in his car. Many believe this year is the last season for Sergio Perez at Red Bull. But at the same time, Red Bull didn't mention anything about the 2025 driver's contract. Daniel raced for Red Bull the most of his F1 career. He spent 2 years with Renault and McLaren where he won the 2021 Italian Grand Prix. Last year he returned to Red Bull as a driver for the RB team. He won 8 races in his Formula 1 career. Hope we’ll see Ricciardo in the future with some other Formula 1 team.
