In a recent piece of news, the media reports have learned that the star New Zealand racer Liam Lawson’s future in F1 is at risk in the upcoming 2025 season. It has been understood after Red Bull’s decision concerning the future of the 22-year-old.

In a recent announcement, it was revealed by Red Bull that Yuki Tsunoda’s contract has been extended for one more year. So, the Japanese star will be serving the RB for the coming year. Meanwhile, this extension of Tsunoda’s contract has also left Red Bull on a two-way choosing between Daniel Ricciardo and Liam Lawson.

This might up with tricky conditions for the Red Bull, which will put Lawson’s future in confusion. The New Zealand star is currently in the junior program; earlier, last year, he was introduced by RB in the five F1 races as a replacement for the injured Ricciardo, who sustained a hand fracture in Zandvoort.

Lawson had a few impressive outings as he got points in the Grand Prix, which made him a potential contender for a seat in a full-time capacity for the coming year. However, RB went with Tsunoda in 2024 followed by offering a year-long deal with Ricciardo.

Meanwhile, just a few days back, Lawson himself came up with a big admission about his future in F1. He also said that he is still unaware of the positioning of his slot in the F1 2025 driver market.

“If I had the answer to that, then I’d probably be in the car right now, so I have no idea,” said Lawson to talkSPORT when he was asked if he would be there on the grid in the upcoming 2025 season of F1.

“Everything’s changing at the moment. There’s a lot of drivers moving around so, at the moment, I don’t know where I slot into that, and if I do at all, but it’s something that I’m working towards every single day at the moment,” he added later.
