Daniel Ricciardo emphasizes his concentration on overcoming his consistent struggles in Formula 1, rather than concerning himself with his potential presence on the grid for the upcoming season. There has been speculation regarding the Australian driver's future, with some suggesting that his seat could be taken by reserve driver Liam Lawson.

It can happen possibly even before the current season concludes. Despite the support from his team's CEO, Peter Bayer, Ricciardo remains dissatisfied with the performance gaps to his teammate Yuki Tsunoda, particularly evident during qualifying sessions.

While speaking with MotorSport.com Ricciardo said, "The gap to Tsunoda, maybe we do find something that explains why I lost a bit here or there. There'll probably always be something – this is F1 and it's never perfect. I'm not happy with having these gaps. I think that's what's frustrating me a bit. The team has been great and they've been supportive and they know I can do it.”

"But it's been a bit more of a struggle this year to do it week in, week out, and that's really where my focus is now as opposed to getting too comfortable or excited about what the future holds. I want to be doing better, whether that's the car or me."

Why Canadian GP is important for Daniel Ricciardo?

Daniel Ricciardo faced early-season challenges, prompting a switch to a fresh chassis for the Chinese Grand Prix. This change immediately reflected in improved performance, evidenced by his impressive fourth-place finish in the Miami Grand Prix sprint race.

However, Ricciardo's struggles persisted on Sundays, failing to secure points so far, unlike Tsunoda, who has achieved five point-scoring finishes, including the last three races in Miami, Imola, and Monaco. Initially considered for a potential promotion to the senior Red Bull team alongside Max Verstappen at the start of the season, Ricciardo's chances for such advancement have now dwindled. His upcoming opportunity to score points lies in the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal next Monday morning.
