Formula 1 heads into its home continent, Europe, for the first time this year. The first-ever European GP is hosted as the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Italy. The motor valley, home to many iconic brands like Ferrari, Maserati and Ducati, has always shown love and affection for Formula 1 racing. We predict this year to be very different compared with last year, as Max Verstappen and Red Bull lost their dominance in the sport, and McLaren is now the new dominant force.
Because of that, we are predicting a new winner this year. Before Monza, Imola was the home to the Italian Grand Prix in the 80s, and after many decades, we are predicting an Italian win on home soil. So, check out our predictions for the 2025 Formula 1 Emilia Romagna Grand prix.
Here are the F1 Emilia Romagna GP race predictions
Ferrari back at the top
With the Imola GP, we are predicting the home team, Ferrari, to come out on top this week. The Emilia Romagna track is the home track of the Maranello team, and they will have an extra motivation to perform well in their home grand prix. So either Lewis Hamilton or Charles Leclerc will be on the podium this week. Italian fans will be delighted to welcome their heroes where they belong, and it will be a spectacle to watch.
Lando Norris dominate Piastri

The British driver is now facing a new threat from his own team, which is none other than his teammate Oscar Piastri. The Australian driver is now the championship leader and has a great chance of winning the Formula 1 championship this year. But we believe Lando Norris has a great chance at this old-school race track and will be over the top of Piastri this week.

Red Bull and Max Verstappen outside the top 5
As we all know, Red Bull is facing pace and balance issues, and those weaknesses will get exploited on this kind of track. The RB21’s issues will be exploited more this weekend, but Max Verstappen will make all the difference and somehow end up inside the top 10, could also be inside the top 5, as we gave up predicting the four-time world champion.
Fernando Alonso's first points
The Veteran Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso hasn't scored any points this year. But it is going to end in this race, and we like to see Alonso in either P8 or P9 this week. The Aston Martins aren't having a great year, but we would like to see them fight somewhere in the midfield from this race weekend.
An Italian victory after two decades
This could be either the Italian team or driver this weekend, and you know who we are mentioning. Kimi Antonelli is the only Italian driver on the grid, and he is racing for Mercedes. Either he could pull something amazing this race weekend, or win his first ever Formula 1 race. Or it could be the home team, Ferrari, who wins this race with either Charles Leclerc or Lewis Hamilton.
