After a successful run at the Suzuka International circuit in the recently concluded Japan Grand Prix Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is launching an ice cream brand in Milan. After improving his performance since last year Leclerc is now looking to improve people’s ice cream choices.
In a recent media report, it has been revealed that Leclerc is going to open a shop in the Italian city of Milan. The Ice Cream brand named Lec is set to have a launch event in the upcoming week in Milan. It’s worth noting that Ferrari's drivers haven’t spoken about it with the media directly but it is assumed that this will be a joint entity with Grom.
Grom is an Italian gelato chain that was recently acquired by Unilever and was started by Federico Grom and Guido Marinetti. Presently, the brand is engaged in an agricultural endeavour in the Langhe region. Despite longstanding speculation, Leclerc has seemingly greenlit the project.
“I can enjoy a guilty pleasure”, says Charles Leclerc
Breaking the silence with a press release, Leclerc stated, “As a professional athlete, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is paramount, directly impacting my performance through dedication, training, and fitness. Yet, this doesn't mean I can't enjoy a guilty pleasure now and then.”
Leclerc further disclosed that a specific dish is his favourite, suggesting fans might have already guessed. The involvement of Federico Grom and Guido Martinetti in the venture strongly hints that ice cream could be Leclerc's indulgence.
Notably, Leclerc is now looking forward to the upcoming Grand Prix in Shanghai. The F1 is returning to China after five long years and it will have a sprint cum grand prix schedule in Shanghai. Both Sprit and GP qualification will take place on the same day leaving drivers and teams in a tricky situation. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen had already called it ‘not a smart move.’ It will be a crucial race for Ferrari to pick up the top spot in the ongoing season.
