The Formula 2 race qualifying has ended and Trident driver Richard Verschoor set the fastest lap in the qualifying of the Azerbaijan GP. He was the fastest at 1.54.857 followed by Prema racing driver Kimi Antonelli who will be racing for Mercedes next year. ART Grand Prix driver Victor Martins came third followed by Rodin Motorsports Zane Maloney. The fifth place was taken by India’s very own Kush Maini of Invicta racing and his teammate Gabriel Bortoleto finished sixth.
The seventh fastest lap was set by AIX racing driver Joshua Durksen leaving the 8th spot to Prema racing driver Gabriele Mini of Italy. Dams Lukas oil driver Jak Crawford came 9th and Tridents Christian Mansell finished tenth in the qualifiers.
The next ten spots were taken by L.Browing (ART Grand Prix), P.Aron (Hitech Pulse-Eight), D.Hauger (MP Motorsport), J.Correa (DAMS Lucas Oil), I.Hadjar (Campos racing), E.Fittipaldi (Van Amersfoort Racing), R.Miyata (Rodin Motorsport), O.Goethe (MP Motorsport), A.Cordeel (Hitech Pulse-Eight), R.Villagomez (Van Amersfoort Racing), J.Marti 9Campos Racing) and N.Koolen (AIX Racing).
Currently in the Formula 2 World Championship I.Hadjar is leading with 165 points followed by G.Bortoleto with 154.5 points. Z.maloney is third with 135 points, P.Aron is fourth with 124 points, and J.Crawford is fifth with 105 points. Kimi Antonelli who will replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes next year is standing 6th in the Formula 2 championship with 99 points. India’s Kush Maini holds 10th in the F2 championship with 74 points.
