F1 Miami Grand Prix Sprint Race results: Lando Norris wins pole as Antonelli loses out
The 2025 Miami Grand Prix Sprint race was full of drama as the safety car ended Lewis Hamilton's dream of winning the race. Lando Norris is the winner of the sprint.
McLaren driver Lando Norris won the 2025 Miami Grand Prix race under safety car after the race was interrupted by back-to-back crashes. The McLaren team is continuing their winning run this year, as Red Bull driver Max Verstappen was given a 10-second time penalty for an unsafe pit release. Antonelli also lost his position at the start, which is mainly due to a lack of experience in wet conditions.

Sprint Race summary
The opening lap was a brain fade for Kimi Antonelli as he lost his pole position to McLaren driver Oscar Piastri by going wide. Lando Norris and Max Verstappen also took the chance and pushed Antonelli to fourth. The conditions improved, and the teams decided to pit the cars and change the tyres to Mediums and softs. The Red Bull and Mercedes Formula 1 teams entangled themselves with an unsafe release, leading to a damaged front wing for Max Verstappen.
Antonelli entered the pit stop and collided with Max Verstappen’s Red Bull car, leading to wing damage. At the same time, Lewis Hamilton pitted first and was flying past each driver with soft tyres. He was running for the pole position, and suddenly everything changed with the crash from Carlos Sainz.
Then Liam Lawson collided with Fernando Alonso, sending him out of the race and bringing the safety car. McLaren cars wanted this desperately to stay afloat and finish the race under the safety car. Hamilton has lost the chance to win the sprint race as the VSC didn't allow him to overtake the two McLarens. Finally, the gruelling Sprint race ended with a safety car, with Lando Norris winning, followed by his teammate Oscar Piastri and Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton on the podium.
