F1 legends Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton joins Christiano Ronaldo among the world’s athletes' rich list

Multiple-time Formula 1 world champions Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are now on the World’s Athletes rich list. They are now among the world’s highest-paid sports personalities. Lewis Hamilton still has an edge over Max Verstappen in terms of assets and brand value.

Hamilton is sitting in 22nd place alongside Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez, earning a total worth of $80 million over the past 12 months. Max Verstappen sits in 24th place ahead of Football legend Neymar Jr. with an estimated earning of $78 million. Out of this $78 million, $72 million came as salary and driver bonuses from Red Bull.

The remaining $6 million came through sponsorship and merchandise deals. Hamilton earned very little for his on-track activities, but his off-track earnings are very high compared with Verstappen's. Lewis Hamilton as a brand is bigger than Max verstappen, and that is why he has more sponsors and is a brand face for many MNCS. 

Christiano Ronaldo at the top

The list is dominated by Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who earned a total income of $275 million. He is untouchable as the next member on the list, Basketball player Stephen Curry, resides in second with a total earnings of $56 million. 

Boxer Tyson Fury is in third, earning $146 million. New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson holds the last place with $53.6 million. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton also own many business ventures and merchandise, and through them, they earn a lot of money.

Both are considered to be F1’s legendary icons and biggest names. Hamilton is now 40 and is in the last phase of his career. He wants to win one more F1 world title to become the greatest F1 champion of all time. Max, on the other hand, already has four titles and is fighting for his fifth one this year.
