FP1 Session Summary
The Session started with Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli dominating the grid for some time. The home team, Ferrari, struggled as there was a lot of bottoming from the cars. The drivers faced trouble with the track as it is old school and gives a bumpy ride. This may be the last time we race in Emilia Romagna as F1 is deciding to have only one race for each country to focus on the rest of the world.
The Red Bull team faced a drastic difference between Max Verstappen’s and Yuki Tsunoda’s pace. FP1 was very good for the Williams Racing team as both of their drivers, Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon, showed tremendous lap times. Lewis Hamilton finally showed some great pace and finished in P5. The biggest disappointment was the home hero Kimi Antonelli, who was out of the top 10. We hope he will show massive improvement in the next Imola GP session.
