Oscar Piastri finished as the fastest driver at the end of the Bahrain GP FP3 session in the Sakhir international circuit. McLaren, as predicted, is leading the table.
The 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix FP3 is complete, with McLaren driver Oscar Piastri leading the table with the fastest lap. Sakhir, which was traditionally a low downforce track, provided a big opportunity for teams like Mercedes and McLaren to go flat out. Their drivers also shined well by showing consistency in race pace and lap times.

FP3 session summary
The Session started with the two McLaren drivers leading the table. Max Verstappen made a late comeback to set the fastest lap, but it didn't last long as he was beaten by his junior driver, Isack Hadjar. The session was under the sun, so the teams didn't want to push that hard. Oscar Piastri continued his good form and set the fastest lap time.
The qualifying session will be happening under the lights, so we expect the results to be different. Red Bull F1 driver Yuki Tsunoda struggled throughout the session and finished in the bottom. He was too slow, but we expect the team to make changes in their setup before the qualifying. The highlight was Pierre Gasly, Kimi Antonelli and Isack Hadjar ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Carlos Sainz finally showed some promise for Williams with a P9 finish. The next will be the qualifying, followed by the race tomorrow.
