In an exciting development for motorsport fans, Formula 2 superstar Ollie Bearman has secured a multi-year contract with Haas, earning him a full-time seat in Formula 1 starting in 2025. The 19-year-old British driver, who has been turning heads in the F2 series with PREMA, will bring fresh talent and potential to the American F1 squad.

Bearman’s journey to Formula 1 has been marked by a series of impressive performances, including a remarkable debut in F1 when he stepped in for an unwell Carlos Sainz at Ferrari during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Despite the last-minute call-up, Bearman delivered a stellar performance, finishing seventh and earning points on his debut. His current F2 campaign has also been noteworthy, with a recent win in the Sprint Race in Austria adding to his growing list of achievements.

In addition to his racing duties in F2, Bearman has been serving as a reserve driver for both Haas and Ferrari. He has already completed several FP1 sessions with Haas, with his third outing scheduled for this weekend at Silverstone. This extensive experience within the team and exposure to F1 machinery have prepared him well for the full-time role.

Ollie Bearman expresses happiness!

Bearman expressed his elation at the promotion, stating, “It’s hard to put into words just how much this means to me. To say out loud that I will be a Formula 1 driver for the Haas F1 Team makes me so immensely proud. To be one of the very few people who get to do the thing they dreamed of as a child is something truly incredible.”

He extended his gratitude to the Haas team, particularly team owner Gene Haas and Team Principal Ayao Komatsu, for their faith in his abilities. Bearman also acknowledged the crucial support from the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, which has been instrumental in his development since his days in Formula 4.

Meanwhile, With Nico Hulkenberg set to depart for Sauber/Audi next year and Kevin Magnussen’s contract expiring at the end of 2024, Haas still has one seat up for grabs. Speculation abounds with names like Esteban Ocon and Valtteri Bottas being considered, while Magnussen’s future remains uncertain but could be secured with consistently strong performances.
