The Aston Martin F1 team welcomes F1 designer guru Adrian Newey into their camp starting today. The British race designer has achieved many drivers and constructors titles in his 3 decade F1 career. He was a key member of the title-winning Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull racing teams. Newey's biggest stint was with the Red Bull racing team from 2006 to 2024, where he achieved 8 constructors titles.

His RB19 car was the most successful in F1 history, as Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez won 21 out of 22 races in the 2023 season. But in 2024, Adrian Newey announced that he would leave the team by the mid-2024. Everybody thought Adrian Newey would retire from Formula 1, but in September 2024, Newey announced that he would join the Aston Martin F1 team as a managing technical partner from the 2025 season.

The 2025 F1 season starts this month in Australia, and many teams have already finished working on their cars for this year. Newey, who was on probation, is allowed to work only on March 3, as his Red Bull contract restricts him to do so.

So from today, Newey will lay his hands on the drawing board and work for the Aston Martin team. He is expected to bring key upgrades to the 2025 car as the season progresses. But his main job will be working on the 2026 Aston Martin car that will be designed based on the new F1 regulations.

Newey and Honda will join to make the Aston Martin team the most successful on the grid with drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. Alonso and Adrian were the biggest rivals in Formula 1 for two decades. For the first time, they will be working for the same team.

Aston Martin F1 team is betting on Honda and Adrian Newey as the two were the biggest reasons for Red Bull’s resurgence in Formula 1 after dispute with Renault. The 2026 season will be a year that starts from zero for all the teams, and whoever brings the best package will dominate the grid.
