Alex Marquez nailed the Silverstone circuit with the fastest lap time.
Alex Marquez became the fastest rider at Silverstone as he set the all-time lap record. The Gresini Racing rider became the fastest rider at the 2025 MotoGP British Grand Prix Practice session. Yamaha also managed to put three of their riders inside the top 10, and they all qualify for the Q2 session. It's been many years since we saw this many Yamaha bikes in Q2, and all thanks to their grit, determination and hard work to become one of the top teams in MotoGP.
Prima Pramac rider Jack Miller went for an early crash at the start of the session. The British Grand Prix FP1 topper Marc Marquez also had a low side, which broke his right foot peg, forcing him to get back to his garage for repair.
Surprisingly, the Aprilia Racing team rider Marco Bezzecchi had a great pace, and he topped the session with the fastest lap time against the Ducatis and the Yamahas. Then came Factory Honda's Joan Mir, who set the fastest lap time, which was a bigger surprise.
In the final few minutes, there was complete drama with all the drivers going for the pole record. Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha set the fastest lap time, and within a few seconds, Alex Marquez entered the pole position with an all-time lap record. Quartararo has been the most consistent rider in the last few races. But there is still a Qualifying and Sprint session left, and let us see whether Quartararo can do the magic once again.
