There will be Five rookie drivers who will be making an appearance at the Mexican Grand prix Free Practice Session 1. These drivers are the upcoming and future of the Formula 1 teams and it will be a nice test for them to showcase their F1 talent in public.
Aston Martin, Ferrari, Kick Sauber F1, Mercedes and McLaren are the teams that will sub their main drivers and let the rookies drive for them during the first practice session. They all have driven F1 cars in practice sessions before but this particular circuit is located at a very high altitude in Mexico City which will be very different for them.
The Young Rookie Drivers
Felipe Drugovich (Aston Martin)
The 2022 F2 champion will drive the Aston Martin car at the Mexican GP FP1. The Brazilian driver was the team's first official test and reserve driver. He made his debut at the 2023 Italian Grand Prix. The Brazilian is unlikely to race for Aston Martin until the 2025 season is over, so he will be looking to impress some other mid-field teams for a future racing seat in Formula 1.

Ollie Bearman (Ferrari/Haas)
He is the future star in F1 after an impressive 2023 F2 season. He made his F1 debut at the 2023 Mexican Grand prix in place of Kevin Magnussen. In 2024 he became the youngest driver to drive a Ferrari car in Formula 1 after he took Carlos Sainz's car at the Saudi Arabian Grand prix. Next year he will be a full-time Formula 1 driver at Haas after Nico Hulkenbergs exit from the team. He will be driving Charles Leclerc's Ferrari car at the Free practice session of the Mexico GP.
Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes)
After crashing George Russell's Mercedes car at the Parabolica in Monza Kimi Antonelli is looking to prove his worth to the Mercedes boss. Mexican GP is a big opportunity for him as he will be driving Hamilton's car. The young Italian impressed Toto Wolff even during his Karting days. Next year he will replace the outgoing 7 time world champion Lewis Hamilton so he has a lot more points to prove.
Pato O’ Ward (McLaren)
The most interesting Rookie on the list was the 25-year-old Mexican O’Ward, who was an Indy car driver for the Arrow Mclaren team. He finished fifth in the championship with multiple podiums under his name. He already drove the McLaren machinery at the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand prix. The McLaren seat is occupied until 2026 so he is there to impress the rest of the teams and his home crowd. Pato will be driving in place of Lando Norris.
Robert Shwartzman (Kick Sauber)
The Russian-Israeli driver was the competitor for Oscar Piatsri in the 2021 F2 Paddock. He was the test driver for Ferrari in 2022 and he will now replace Zhou Guanyu in the Kick Sauber F1 team. His future also lies at the Mexican GP and he will be hoping to impress everyone on the track.
