Indy car to F1 car

The most interesting part about him was he is an Indy car driver who is going to drive a Formula 1 car though this is not his first time as he drove an F1 car already in Abu Dhabi in the last two years. The Mexican man will be getting more attention from the crowds and press people to see how he drives an F1 car.

He was McLaren’s Indy car member for the last five years. The 25-year-old will be present at the Mexican GP with McLaren’s Formula 1 team. The Mexican driver will be the second driver at the circuit in Mexico with his compatriot Sergio Perez who will be driving a Red Bull car.

Speaking about the chance to drive a Formula 1 car O’ward said “I'm just excited to be there. I'm excited to enjoy the experience of that grand prix weekend without just being there to walk around. I will actually get to drive the car at least once! So that's pretty special.”

When asked about driving a F1 car he added “That's my main goal. I want to enjoy that as much as possible. I feel like naturally, you would expect it to, but I don't feel the extra pressure. I think it's cool.” O’Ward also feels more excited to drive the constructor's championship-leading car for the first time and said it is a fantastic opportunity for him to learn and take some experience out of it. He also feels the local Mexican crowd going crazy wherever Sergio Perez goes and he doesn't think he will receive the same kind of reception as Checo in Mexico.
