Cole Palmer has been named EA SPORTS Player of the Month for April 2024, earning the accolade for the first time. The Chelsea FC midfielder dominated the league in goals, netting seven despite having made just four appearances. He also received an assist, personally contributing to eight goals during April, a figure no player could match.

Palmer's April goals propelled him to second place in the battle to win this season's Castrol Golden Boot. His hat-trick in a 4-3 victory over Manchester United comprised equalising and winning strikes in the second half stoppage time.

He subsequently scored four goals in a 6-0 win over Everton, becoming the first Chelsea member to record a goal in seven consecutive Premier League home games, as well as the earliest ever goalscorer to complete a Chelsea hat-trick during a match, completing the treble inside 29 minutes after kick-off.

Palmer, who previously won the PL2 Player of the Month title in October 2020 while playing for Manchester City, is also the first Chelsea player to get the award since Eden Hazard in September 2018. After combining public votes across the EA SPORTS website with the votes of an expert panel of football experts, the 22-year-old emerged as the winner of a six-man shortlist.

Cole Palmer - the signing of the season?

His performances have earned him the Chelsea Player of the Season and Player's Player of the Season trophies. Palmer's performances have been recognised outside Chelsea, with nominations for Premier League Young Player of the Season and Player of the Season honours. Palmer has proven to be a superb signing for the Blues after his £42.5 million transfer from Manchester City. He will be hoping to maintain his impressive form in order to qualify for the 2024 European Championship.

England has a few strikers who can go to Germany during the summer, and the Chelsea player will want to make the journey. England boss Gareth Southgate has many interesting possibilities, but Palmer has distinguished himself with his outstanding season.
