Strickland felt WWE was like a big box office hit where one can get to see a lot of hyped stuff. However, he felt WWE doesn't offer what AEW does. He felt Tony Khan's company was more on the side of offering something to the fans which a box office hit wouldn't. He felt AEW is unique compared to WWE in that way.
"It's almost like you get the big box office movies and all that stuff over there, but over there you don't get a green screen, you don't get wires. Can you friggin act? That's what AEW is," Swerve Strickland felt. He further claimed that one had to perform to be successful in AEW and regarded his company to be A24.

Strickland felt thr performances and acting had to be pristine in AEW. He hence felt viewers could watch both AEW and WWE, as both are successful in attracting their audience. "You have to act to perform in our films. We're A24. The performances and acting have to be pristine," added Strickland.
"You can enjoy both and both are successful. That's the beauty of it," Swerve erased the tribalism between the AEW and WWE fans. His statement went viral on X, Instagram, and other social media platforms. While many agreed with his statement, some opposed his way of comparison.
Some felt WWE was not just about storytelling and added the company has some of the best wrestlers in the world and allows them to execute their skills. Likewise, they felt AEW was not just about concentrating on the in-ring skills of the wrestlers, but also allowing them to tell the story to the masses.
