In the recent times, some of the WWE Superstars were released from the promotion, which led to these stars taking a different paths in their careers. While some moved to the Indies, a few of them either returned to AEW or made their debut. Especially since SummerSlam 2025, there have been a handful of WWE Superstars in AEW.
Two former female superstars and a male superstar have had an appearance in AEW from August to October 2025. While there is no update on the status of one of their contracts, other two have signed a multi-year contract with Tony Khan's company. Isla Dawn
Isla Dawn was Alba Fyre's tag team partner when she was in WWE. They were a part of the team named 'Unholy Union' and held on to the Women's Tag Team Championship from Clash at the Castle to Bash in Berlin in 2024. However, the creative plans did not take the duo off. Eventually, Isla was released while Fyre joined Chelsea Green's Secret Hervice.
On the August 23 episode of AEW Collision, Dawn made her debut as Courtney Stewart. She had a match against Megan Bayne and lost it. Since then, there have been speculations about her AEW contract, although there hasn't been anything official. It's been over 6 weeks since she hasn't appeared on AEW TV.

Kayden Carter
Much like Dawn, Carter was a part of the Women's tag team division. She was paired with Katana Chance, whose partnership was not explored enough. The duo had a limited screen time and the creative team lacked plans for them. Eventually, Carter was released by the Stamford-based promotion.
On the October 8 episode of Dynamite, Carter made her AEW debut as Lacey Lane and faced Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship. Lane produced an open challenge and got a chance to have a match with the CEO on her AEW debut. In the last year or so, Katana did more Tiktok videos backstage with Damian Priest and others than the number of TV appearances.

Andrade
Andrade's WWE exit was rather complicated. Many reports claimed him to have been released for being caught consuming a banned substance. While Andrade didn't react anything on that part, he parted ways with WWE smoothly, hoping for a new start to his career. He was also reported to have failed to respond to the management's alerts regarding the same.
On the October 1 episode of Dynamite, the Mexican star returned to AEW as Andrade El Idolo. He joined the Don Callis Family in the segment and officially confirmed signing a multi-year contract. He became the only wrestler to move from WWE to AEW, back to WWE, and later to AEW. WWE reportedly had plans for him and Rey Fenix to have a tag team title run. Unfortunately, it could not become a reality due to Andrade's exit.
