WWE is gearing up for the King & Queen of The Ring premium live event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 25. However, certain matchups that were initially scheduled for Monday Night RAW were abruptly withdrawn from the broadcast and relocated to live events. The cause for the change has been disclosed.

As shown on this week's Monday Night RAW, Gunther advanced to the second round of the King of the Ring competition, where he will face the victor of the upcoming Rey Mysterio vs. Kofi Kingston bout. In addition, both Ilja Dragunov and Jey Uso won their first-round matches. Lyra Valkyria, Zoey Stark, and Iyo Sky all won their respective bouts in the women's division.

WWE surprised fans by moving the King of the Ring battle between Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio, as well as the Queen of the Ring match between Shayna Baszler and Zelina Vega, from Monday Night RAW to live events this week. This surprise adjustment caught many fans off guard, as many believed it was simply deceptive advertising on WWE's side.

Helps the competition to run smoothly

According to Fightful Select, WWE chose to stage certain King and Queen of the Ring tournament matchups at non-televised live events because to scheduling restrictions. With the WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024 event set on May 25, there isn't enough time to air all of the tournament fights entirely on television.

This helps the competition to run smoothly without crowding the television schedule. Although these matches will not be shown on television, the decision helps to keep the timetable on track for the event in Saudi Arabia.

Some WWE performers whose matches were rescheduled for live events were also informed of the change at the last minute. We'll have to wait and see who wins the King and Queen of The Ring competitions, which might greatly advance their careers.
