Sami Zayn returned to Monday Night Raw and challenged Gunther for the world title. While Gunther initially refused the challenge, Sami let him know that it was he who beat the Ring General at WrestleMania XL. It forced the world champion to think twice before he could return to the locker room. There is a good chance of the result of the match impacting the Bloodline story.
Roman Reigns returned to the company at SummerSlam and has been on his mission to reclaim the title of the Tribal Chief. But the fact that the new Bloodline is not a pushover, especially with the likes of Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu makes Roman's task difficult. Hence, he would need the help of the old Bloodline.
One of the key members of the old faction was Sami Zayn. The star wrestler brought the much-needed funny angle to the faction when they seemed a bit serious. To get him involved in the Bloodline story, he must suffer a big setback. There might not be a better way to involve Bloodline in Sami's business than to let them cost Sami the world title against Gunther potentially at Bad Blood.
Route map to the Bloodline Civil War
The match between Sami Zayn and Gunther is likely to take place at Bad Blood. The feud might intensify the rivalry between team Roman and Solo. The best way to set their feud and the reunion of the Old Bloodline would be to let Jacob Fatu or the Tonga brothers cost Sami the match so that Gunther could retain his title. It would lead to the story of the Bloodline Civil War.
It would further force Jey Uso to be involved in the story too. It would otherwise not be as convincing for Roman to get Jey on board. But Sami being in trouble could automatically involve Jey in the mix. Hence, getting a feud between Gunther and Sami might be the right call. It could help build the story of the Bloodline Civil War.
