Is Seth Rollins' injury legitimate or a work? (X)
Overview
- Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury during his match against LA Knight on Saturday Night's Main Event
- On the Rich Eisen Show, Rollins claimed he could potentially be out of action for an extended period of time
- However, some reports claimed his injury could be a work and a part of the storyline
Seth Rollins has been out of action since he suffered a knee injury during the match against LA Knight on Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12, 2025. The Visionary was absent on WWE Raw the following episode, and Paul Heyman refused to give an update on his injury. The Oracle, however, proceeded with Bron Breakker, who was a part of the Gauntlet match.
The Visionary showed up on the Rich Eisen Show and gave an update on his injury. Mr.Money in the Bank claimed that he was a bit too swollen and might need a few weeks to get a firm diagnosis. The star wrestler claimed it might take him an extended period of time to be match fit and clear to wrestle.

"It was a little too swollen, so hopefully we’re going to take another look in a week or two here in LA to try and get some sort of firm diagnosis, and then we can go from there. I am not a doctor, I only know my body and what I feel. And what I feel is this is going to be me out for an extended period of time," said Rollins on the Rich Eisen Show.
On the other hand, some of the sources have also reported that his injury was a part of the storyline. It was claimed that Seth had injured his knee days before his SNME match against Knight. To write him off TV, the decision was reportedly taken to involve his work in the story, to get injured during the match.
SummerSlam or WrestleMania: Where would Seth Rollins cash in his MITB Contract?
When Seth went for the Moon Sault and landed on both of his legs, he damaged his knee. While the commentators reported it to be a poor landing, to the naked eye, it did not seem so. Knight took advantage of it and delivered a BFT to claim a win, but did not seem to be too happy with the sequence.
Many concluded Rollins was booked to win, but the decision was changed immediately on the spot to ensure Knight got over with the win. However, some reports also contradicted it, claiming it was all a part of the story, as it was woven to write him off TV.

There is hence an ambiguity over the genuineness of Seth's injury. He has a good chance to cash in his MITB Contract whenever he wishes to. However, since WWE is pushing him as the top guy, Rollins might cash in at a major PLE like SummerSlam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, or WrestleMania.
If Seth doesn't show up at SummerSlam, his injury could be legitimate, as that would mean his potential cash-in at Mania, as a deja vu to his Hiest of the Century in 2015. However, a bigger surprise could be his early recovery to shock everyone to complete a successful cash-in during the match between Gunther and CM Punk at SummerSlam.
