What's next in CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre saga?

CM Punk was taken out by Drew McIntyre in the latest episode of Friday Night Smackdown. On his home return to Chicago, Punk sustained a massive shock as he was sent out of the area through an ambulance. An enraged McIntyre who had claimed himself to be out of the company, returned to the blue brand and avenged the screwjob of Punk in Glasgow earlier this week.

It was possibly the best way to take revenge, as Punk screwed Drew at the Clash at the Castle in his backyard. McIntyre attacked the second city saint, made him bleed, carried him through the entrance area, and forced the fans to be shocked. CM Punk seemed to be deeply injured and needed the help of the security guards to be carried by a stretcher.

McIntyre, who had uninstalled his social media handles, posted an image of a bleeding Punk. It seems like the cult of personality will be out of action for the next few weeks if not more. Before going out of the arena, Drew said that he would be on Monday Night Raw. One might get an idea about Punk next week. But it seems like he would need time to be fit.

Will CM Punk return sooner rather than later?

Till then, Drew would be doing the majority of the work in the feud hyping through promos. Punk might return around Summerslam or a week before it. Till then, he could either cut promos or stay out of the action. If Drew has a match during the Summerslam, there is a chance of the voice of the voiceless interfering in it to cost McIntyre.

The major problem would be Punk's process of recovering from the injury. He has now sustained an injury while returning from one. It might be a distraction created by WWE to make fans believe he could return a bit later. In reality, he could return early to surprise the fans which could further surprise the fans and lead to a loud pop.
