The WWE has officially ended its ties with the three-time champion Wes Lee, ending weeks of rumors around his status with the company. Lee's removal has led to changes, from the active members to the alumni section. Wes has been a quick name among the other nine released transfers. WWE's official website has confirmed what many fans feared: one of the most talented and beloved stars is no longer part of the organization. The news comes as part of a larger wave of roster cuts that have affected both NXT and main roster performers, with the changes reportedly overseen by Triple H, who continues to shape WWE's creative and developmental direction. This decision of a shift has not only left fans buzzing but has surprised the whole of the wrestling community, as Lee was regarded as one of the brightest in-ring stars of his generation and also a consistent fan favorite throughout his tenure.

Wes Lee's exit shocks fans and signals a shift in WWE's Direction
Once among the NXT's most popular stars, Lee began his Wrestling career in 2020 as part of a tag team, MSK, alongside Zachary Wentz. The duo soon found success, winning the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and also capturing the NST Tag Team Championship twice. After Wentz's release in 2022, Lee transitioned into the singles category and went on to win another NXT North American Championship, holding the title for an impressive 269 days, which is the second-longest reign in its history.
However, Lee's momentum slowed in 2024 following a heel turn, and he later joined the stable High Ryze with Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont. He played last in July 2025, which sparked speculation about his future. While WWE has not explained any reason for the release, sources suggest that the decision has been rolled out as part of internal restructuring managed by Triple H, who is responsible for recent creative and roster decisions. Alongside Lee, other notable names such as Stevie Turner and Lance Anoa'i, the cousin of Roman Reigns, are among the nine members who have been cut off from their contracts. Many of these changes come right before the Crown Jewel event, signaling a shift in WWE's focus on talent development.
