On January 6th, 2025, WWE made history as they decided to move its broadcast home to Netflix. However, because Sony Sports Network already had the media rights, Indian fans couldn't watch WWE shows on Netflix. Now, Triple H has come up with much-awaited news for Indian fans. In a video announcement, he reveals the date for WWE on Netflix broadcast for India.
Netflix will take over as WWE's official new home in India on April 1, 2025. In 2020, Sony Sports Network signed a five-year contract worth about $180200 million to acquire the media rights to WWE. According to sources, Sony Sports Network is unlikely to extend the rights past the contract's March 2025 expiration date.

After buying media rights, Indian fans will have access to all of WWE's weekly flagship shows, including Raw, NXT, and SmackDown, as well as WWE's Premium Live Events, such as SummerSlam, Money in the Bank, Royal Rumble, and the upcoming WrestleMania, thanks to Netflix's long-term partnership with the sports entertainment company.
Netflix changed its subscription plan for India
Netflix has joined hands with the WWE ring to offer high-adrenaline action and serialized storytelling three times a week (Raw, NXT, and SmackDown), 52 weeks a year. Members in India will now take advantage of live Hindi commentary, combining the finest aspects of written programming with unanticipated live entertainment. Along with fresh and exclusive WWE vault archival programming, Netflix will also offer live and on-demand streaming options.
There is also criticism of Netflix's performance in live sports. The platform's capacity to manage live WWE programming was called into question after many crashes occurred during their first live sports event, which pitted Jake Paul against Mike Tyson. Netflix also has a subscription-based business model, which would make it inaccessible to a significant portion of WWE's Indian fanbase.
