The Rock opened up on coming to terms with Cody Rhodes during WWE Raw on Netflix. The Final Boss showed up on WWE NXT for the first time in his career. He spoke to the fans on New Years Evil and claimed the fans just had to enjoy the ride he was taking them, rather than questioning his intentions.
On WWE Raw on Netflix, The Rock gave his flowers to Cody Rhodes for carrying the company on his back. He later shared a beer with the American Nightmare backstage on Raw. Fans were disappointed with the fact that The Final Boss came to terms with Cody sooner than anticipated. The Rock addressed it on his NXT appearance.

The 10-time world champion recalled how the fans were asking him to let Cody finish his story and to be the Undisputed WWE Champion. He also recalled how the fans were angry with him coming to terms with Cody a year later. He did not like the hypocrisy of the fans.
The Rock addresses fans' problem with his character change
The People's Champ funnily asked the fans to know their role, shut their mouths, and enjoy the ride The Rock was taking them. "Know your role. Shut your mouth. And enjoy the ride The Rock is taking you on," said The Final Boss. He felt goosebumps on his maiden appearance on NXT.
The Rock compared WWE Raw and NXT. He claimed NXT was the place where one wanted to be while Raw was the place where one would go. He said Raw has established stars while NXT has stars in the making who could headline WrestleMania in three years.
The legendary wrestler had a backstage segment with Ava and Ethan Page. He claimed to have heard a lot of bad things on Page. However, he asked Ethan to contact him if he needed anything. Ava asked The Rock to show up in the arena to sense what NCT would be like. He did exactly that and witnessed the passion of NXT fans.
