The Rock gifted Cody Rhodes a special truck on WWE Smackdown. The truck had the logo of the American Nightmare, and the Final Boss let Cody know that more special things would be gifted to him. The People's Champ indirectly threatened Cody by gifting him a belt with the caption 'Cody's Soul' with the death date of his dad, Dusty Rhodes.

Cody was given a lot of privileges backstage on WWE Smackdown before the main event of the night. He was given a special set of security guards who helped him in the arena. Rhodes was given a special locker room that had the best facilities. Backstage on Smackdown, Drew and CM Punk spoke to Cody regarding his decision.

Drew McIntyre claimed he would have never missed an opportunity to be on the final boss's side. Punk said something similar, as he said a younger version of him would not have denied such an offer. Cody was interviewed by Michael Cole in the ring, who spoke of the luxuries Cody would get by accepting the offer.

The interview was cut midway as The Great One had many gifts for Cody. The Bloodline star sent a special truck to Rhodes and had a message for him. The Rock claimed he ensured Cody was given the truck, something he loved. The Great One promised more such things would be handed over to Cody in the future.
Rocky claimed that he would be showing up in Toronto for the Elimination Chamber weekend and greeted Toronto fans. He was about to board the private jet before cutting a segment. The mighty wrestler had an additional message for the American nightmare.
