WATCH: Oba Femi retains his NXT title, gets attacked by New Stable on Vengeance Day

At WWE NXT Vengeance Day, Oba Femi forced Austin Theory and Grayson Waller back to the main roster. To defend the NXT Championship, Oba Femi faced Austin Theory and Grayson Waller in a Triple Threat match. Femi has a great chance to solidify his control over NXT.

During their entrances, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller were clearly at odds with one another. Oba Femi then left as the NXT supporters cheered him on. Additionally, Mike Rome's ring introductions gave this event a strong combat vibe. The champion was double-teamed by A-Town Down Under to open this bout, but Oba Femi put up a fierce fight.

The former tag team champs persisted in being overpowered by Femi. Grayson Waller and Austin Theory were set to face off when Oba Femi intervened once more. Despite being distracted, Femi cleared off the announcement table. This match went on when Waller bumped Femi into the ring steps. "We want tables!" chanted the spectators as he then brought a chair into the ring.

Finally, Oba Femi used a sidewalk slam to push Grayson Waller through the chair. This match went on, with Austin Theory ending up at the base of a Tower of Doom and nearly falling on Femi. It was Waller who threw Oba through the table with an elbow drop from the top rope to the outside after Oba grabbed a table from below the ring.

New Stable attacks Oba Femi

In response, Oba Femi ultimately put Grayson Waller through an announcement table. The referee was dragged from the ring by Grayson Waller after Oba smacked a chair out of Austin Theory's hand and then ate an A-Town Down. Austin Theory wasn't thrilled with this.

Oba Femi then successfully executed a Fall From Grace on Grayson Waller, securing his NXT Championship. Any skeptics were hushed by The Ruler's excellent performance in this match. Following the match, the newly formed NXT faction that had made its appearance earlier in the evening appeared. They then hurried to defeat Oba Femi in the ring. They stood in a line, their faces covered, and they left Oba Femi on the mat.
