WATCH: John Cena challenges Randy Orton for title match at WWE Backlash; takes RKO again

John Cena challenged Randy for title match at Backlash. But the action started after his challenge when he was about to hit Orton belt, he managed to dodge it, and a moment later he struck Cena with an RKO in response.

On the most recent episode of SmackDown, Randy Orton challenged John Cena to a match for his Undisputed Championship and then attacked him. John Cena and Randy Orton opened the WWE SmackDown segment. After some verbal dispute, Cena surprisingly attacked Randy. As soon as he was going to attack him with the belt, he survived getting hit, and after that, he hit RKO on Cena for the second time in a week.

This May, the soon-to-be-retired superstar and "The Viper" will square off for the last time at Backlash.  Cena won the title from Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, and this will be his first time defending it.  When John Cena opened the most recent SmackDown episode, The Viper appeared in the ring with Cena. The ex-"Legend Killer" criticised the veteran for giving in to the dark side and pledged to defend wrestling. He asked him to "have kids" as well.

After 25 years of knowing Cena, RKO mentioned that his mottos of hustle, loyalty, and respect weren't simply catchphrases; they were a way of life.  "There is a void inside Cena that needs to be filled," Orton continued. According to John, a match should take place, but it should take place at Backlash.  According to Cena, he wants Randy to feel at ease before their bout.  To give Backlash his best effort, he wants him to spend the day with his family at home in St. Louis.

There won't be any justifications if he doesn't defeat the "Last Real WWE Champion" in this manner.  After that, Cena tried a surprise assault on The Viper but was unexpectedly taken out by RKO.  To conclude the first part, Orton then raised the WWE Championship. 

Then, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis officially announced the bout for Backlash. On Saturday, May 10, John Cena, the WWE 17-time World Champion, will defend his recently acquired undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at the Enterprise Centre in the Viper's hometown of St. Louis.
