WATCH: Joe Hendry's concert gets distracted in WWE NXT

Joe Hendry from TNA has swiftly adopted WWE NXT as his second home, and the NXT fanbase has shown their belief in the program. It was announced last week that Hendry would return to NXT during the first week of the Great American Bash, but he would not be participating in a bout. This week, NXT included a special concert segment featuring Joe Hendry. All of them called out his name as the second hour of the Syfy special got underway. 

Rather, he was going to provide a signature concert performance, and he did not disappoint. Before launching further jabs against Gallus and Joe Coffey, Hendry brought up Shawn Michaels and Booker T. He then led a full chorus that targeted Gallus' facial hair. Gallus would exact their retribution, putting Hendry on the mat after an assault, ending the show.

Hendry entered the ring with his guitar and began singing his latest original work, and before launching into Gallus, he took the time to acknowledge NXT's head of creative (and chef) Shawn Michaels, stating, "But the chef's been in the kitchen, and he summoned Joe Hendry." Then he went for his number one NXT detractor, Booker T, aside from Gallus.

This section had supporters cheering and screaming, "We Believe." Hendry began an encore with his renowned theme tune, but Gallus interfered and attacked the performance. They assaulted Hendry, smashing his guitar on the TNA star's back. House of Glory will mark Joe Hendry's debut as well. Fans are loving his trip, but we'll have to wait and see what his time in NXT brings. 

Then, to the dismay of the crowd, Gallus interrupted Hendry's encore before he could perform his now-iconic theme tune. They did this by taking advantage of the numbers game and giving a convincing defeat. We'll simply have to wait and watch whether Hendry makes a comeback for a game the following week.
