Everything to know about 'The Shield' and their implosion

'The Shield' was the topmost faction of WWE in the period 2012-14. The faction had three members - Roman, Seth, and Ambrose. All of them were emerging stars at the time and needed a certain character for the fans to root for them. Hence, The Shield was formed to elevate them.

Initially, the faction was hated due to their heel antics. But with the progression of time, fans started to like them for their characters and unique presentation. By 2014, The Shield had become a huge phenomenon. Each member of the faction got 'over' among the fans and became capable enough to become a solo performer.

Hence, the plan was devised for the implosion of the faction in 2014. Seth became the wrecker-in-chief as he joined The Authority by attacking Ambrose and Roman with the steel chair. From then on, Roman, Seth, and Dean became the top guys in the company. Though Ambrose left WWE in 2019, Roman and Seth have continued to be the top wrestlers.
