WATCH: Eddy Thorpe beats Trick Williams in Strap match at Vengeance Day

At WWE NXT Vengeance Day, Eddy Thorpe defeated Trick Williams in a strap match, earning the biggest victory of his career. Thorpe struck Williams with a strap low and then a running knee to win the match by pinfall. He pursued Williams right away in the opening moments of the match. The official looked to put the strap on both men, then Williams clotheslined Thorpe out of the way and then chopped him.

Trick Williams then put the strap on both Thorpe and himself after hitting Thorpe with a backbody drop. Williams then sent Thorpe falling against the outside ring post with the strap. Once Thorpe was back in the ring, Williams used the strap to send his face bouncing off the top rope after striking him with his right hand.

Thorpe tripped Williams as he reached the summit and struck him across the spine with the strap. Thorpe then hit Williams with the strap twice and a third time across the midsection after sending him over the top and out of the ring.

Eddy Thorpe wins by pinfall

After that, Thorpe kept striking Williams with the strap before tying him around the ring post and striking him again. After that, Thorpe delivered some right hands to Williams back in the ring and used the strap to send him crashing into the ring post. He then sent Williams falling into the turnbuckle face first twice. 

When Thorpe tried to pin Williams with his trademark elbow drop, Williams kicked out, sending Thorpe tumbling to the mat. Williams locked Thorpe in a crossface with the strap, then struck him with a clothesline and kept nagging him with the strap. After giving Thorpe a few flapjacks, Williams uses the Trick Shot, but Thorpe left the ring before Williams could obtain the pin. Following their boot exchange, Thorpe struck Williams with a low blow using the strap. Thorpe then gave Williams a jumping knee as he pinned down Trick Williams to seal the victory.
