Dakota Kai was visibly heartbroken after failing to win the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Championship in the match against Lyra Valkyria on WWE Raw on Netflix. The emerging star was consoled by her Damage Control mate and the former world champion, Iyo Sky. Kai congratulated Lyra for her win and hoped to get the title soon.
Kai won the semifinal of the Women's IC Title qualifier match against Zoey Stark and booked herself a spot in the final. On the other hand, Lyra beat Iyo Sky to enter the final. The duo delivered a good match which had a brief screen time. After Valkyria pinned Dakota, she was congratulated by her opponent, showing a great spirit of sportsmanship.

Backstage after the match, Dakota was spotted with Iyo. The latter was trying to console the former for her loss. Cathy Kelley wanted a quick word from Kai after her loss. The star wrestler was out of words initially but later felt proud of herself for putting in the hard yards.

Dakota felt a lot of people doubted her including herself. She felt the satisfaction of having proven everyone who doubted her wrong. Kai was happy about being in the final and getting close to claiming the title. While she could not get the job done, Kai praised Lyra for her moment.
While Dakota claimed she wanted to be the inaugural Women's IC Champion, she gave Valkyria her flowers and labeled her a deserving champion. Kai said it was not the end of the road for her. She claimed to keep going behind the Women's IC title and other titles shortly.
Dakota felt she proved many wrongs and was happy to get support from the fans. Kai claimed she was flanked by the best wrestler in the world (Referring to Iyo). Kai claimed she would get the title though she wasn't the first champion. A heartbroken Dakota was consoled by Iyo. Fans wished to see her as the champion soon.
