The TNT Championship was on the line at this week's AEW Dynamite, with Penta El Zero Miedo confronting Adam Copeland. After gaining the title from Christian Cage in a devastating encounter, Copeland wasted no time in defending it, and he went all out to defend his freshly gained Championship gold.

Penta had never won a singles AEW Championship, thus the heat was there from the start, and he remained aggressive throughout the fight. Penta appeared to have Copeland locked in, but Copeland caught a defenceless Penta with a spear before fleeing for cover, maintaining his TNT title.

Penta was the aggressor early on, attacking Copeland and immediately went for a cover. Penta stayed on Copeland, hitting from the top rope and knocking him out of the ring onto the floor. Copeland took a moment to recover outside the ring, but things were still going Penta's way once inside.

Penta kicked Copeland in the gut before delivering a vicious chop to the champion's chest, causing him to roll outside. Penta followed, throwing Copeland into the ring post and then into the steel stairs. Penta then put Copeland down and delivered a superkick to the jaw, but a moment of celebration allowed Copeland to get back into the match.

Julia Hart and Brody King entered the ring after the match

Copeland then hit for a spear, but Penta stepped out of the way, forcing Copeland to spear Alex. Penta landed a superkick and then fought Copeland up top before delivering a Code Red Avalanche, but Copeland kicked out. Penta attempted to take cover again, but Copeland kicked out and landed a spear on a diving Penta. That would be the end of Penta, as Copeland won the three-count to retain his TNT Championship.

The lights went out after the match, and Julia Hart and Brody King entered the ring, with King hitting Copeland and tossing him into the corner before connecting with a boot to the side of the face. King applied a grasp, but Willow Nightingale attacked Hart, forcing King to pull her away. Willow and Brody exchanged stares before Copeland got back on his feet and pulled the rope down, sending King crashing to the floor.
