Kurt Angle pulled off a miracle in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics when he won the gold medal with a broken neck. Not a single person in their wildest dream would've expected the USA star to claim a sensational win. But their resilience and the will to win from Kurt were so incredible that they pushed him towards the ultimate glory that he always dreamt of achieving.

When the former WWE Superstar was just 16 years old, he witnessed the death of his father who fell from the crane from about 15 feet. While his father making it to the hospital was itself a miracle, his staying in a coma for months was a great feat. Unfortunately, Angle's father lost his life. It made Angle resilient who vowed to win an Olympic gold medal one day.

In his autobiography, Kurt claimed it to be a moment that changed his life. The star wrestler went through the trials for the selection at Atlanta Olympics 1996. In the semifinal, he got hard on his head which led to severe injuries like two bulged and herniated disks, two cracked vertebrae, and four pulled muscles in his neck. Things seemed terrible for the star wrestler.

But the attitude of Kurt Angle was to never give up. He worked hard with 6 months to go for the Olympics and got medically cleared to take part. In the first round, Angle overcame Dolgorsuren Sumiyabazar of Mongolia. In the second round, there was a tough challenge from the 6 ft 8 inch tall Wilfredo Morales Suarez of Cuba. Not many gave the WWE Hall of Famer a chance for a podium finish, let alone a gold medal win.

In the semifinal, Kurt had the tough challenge from Sagid Murtazaliyev of Russia who at one point led 3-0. But Angle made a terrific comeback to win the bout 4-3. In the dramatic final, Kurt was 1-1 against Iran's Abbas Jadidi after the full-time. As the result was dependent on the judges, Kurt got the majority in his favor which yielded him the ultimate glory. A few years later, Angle joined WWE.
