The Hardy Boyz make history as unified NXT and TNA Tag Team Champions

The legendary Hardy Boyz, Matt and Jeff Hardy have once again cemented their place in the professional wrestling histroy. At the special "NXT vs TNA Showdown" event, the brothers faced off against NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState(Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin) in a Winner Takes All match. The bout saw the two champions title on the line, and The Hardys emerged victorious, becoming the first wrestlers contracted to TNA to hold the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Historic Unification at Showdown

The match befan with DarkState launching a surprise attack on The Hardys. While Cutler James and Saquon Shugars were sent to the back, Matt and Jeff quickly regained control to start the match officially. The Hardy Boyz demonstrated their experince and teamwork, combining Matt's Twists of Fate with Jeff's signature Swanton Bomb to secure the decisive pinfall over Dion Lennox. This historic win marks the firts time the Hardy Boyz have ever held the NXT Tag Team titles, completing their collection of tag team championships across WWE and TNA. The victory also highlights the ongoing crossover between the two promotions, allowing TNA and  NXT stars to compete in high stakes matchups for fans' entertainment.

Following the show, Matt Hardy took to X/Twitter to break his silence. The legend thanked fans who have always supported him and Jeff Hardy throughout the years. He also mentioned that their support fuels The Hardy Boyz to continue wrestling.

"Thank you to all the dieHARDYs that have always believed in me & Jeff. YOU FUEL US. #WWE #WWENXT," he wrote.

Looking ahead, the Hardy Boyz are scheduled to defend their TNA Tag Team Titles in a Tables match against Bully Ray and D-Von Dudley at TNA Bound for Glory on October 12. While DarkState lost the unification match, the NXT roster benefits from the prestige of future title defense against one of wrestling's most celebrated teams.
