WWE star Xavier Woods has officially re-signed with the company, agreeing to a new multi-year contract that will keep him with the company for a good amount of time, and that too, along with promotion. The news of the signing of the contract was first reported by Fightful Select, confirming that negotiations went down to the wire before both sides reached an agreement in September 2025, just as his previous deal was about to expire.
Xavier Woods' WWE Journey and Career
Xavier Woods, 39, has been part of the WWE for over a decade now and remains one of the most recognizable stars that the company has given. He began his wrestling career in 2005, spending the initial 3 years of his career with TNA Wrestling before he signed a developmental deal with the WWE in 2010. Woods made his main roster debut in 2013 and, since then, has become an essential part of the WWE's tag team division as a member of The New Day alongside Kofi Kingston and Big E.
Together, The New Day has won a combined twelve tag team championships across Raw and SmackDown, making them one of the most decorated factions in WWE history. Wood also reclaimed the title of King of the Ring in 2021, when he defeated Finn Balor in the finals at Crown Jewel. Outside the WWE Ring, Woods has built a successful career and owns his own YouTube channel named UpUpDownDown, where he engages and interviews with WWE superstars through gaming and interviews. The channel currently has over 2.4 million subscribers, showcasing its strong presence beyond wrestling.
Contract and The New Day's Future
Woods' re-signing comes during a period of significant roster changes within WWE. Several talents, inclduing Karrion Kross, Santos Escobar and Jazmyn Nyx have already left the company after negotiations fell through. His renewed deal will ensure that WWE retains one of its most established and marketable veterans.
The current contract status of Kofi remains unconfirmed, while Big E will continue to recover the neck injury that he sustained in 2022. Despite challenged, WWE's decision to secure Woods reinforces its commitment to long-time performers who have helped shape the company's tag team legacy. With this new deal, Xavier Woods will continue to be part of WWE programming for years to come.
