Super Cena from 2005 to 2009 was one of the most dominant forces in the history of WWE. His reign was such that there were more chances of him kicking out at 2 even after receiving the opponent's finisher 4 to 5 times. The best counter to Super Cena's face character would be Roman Reigns' gimmick as the Tribal Chief. In the period 2020 to 2024, he has been as dominant as Cena but with better support.

Advertisment

John Cena was all about winning his bouts clean. He never used to give up and found fairways to take out his opponents. Roman remained in power majorly due to the assistance from the members of the Bloodline. There were only a few instances where he beat his opponents clean. As a faction, the Bloodline had a lot of changes. Several members were in and out of the faction.

Jey Uso was in the faction from late 2020 to early 2023. Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman have always been in the faction. Sami Zayn was a part of the faction from mid-2022 to January 2023. Solo Sikoa was a part of the faction for about two years. The Rock was briefly a part of the faction for a little over two months. Bloodline was the most dominant faction after the pandemic.

Scenario with and without the final boss

In a hypothetical situation, Super Cena would not just be against Roman, but against all the members of the Bloodline. If the challenge is to face all of Sami, Jey, Solo, Jimmy, and Roman at a time. John could still make a case for himself. Taking out Jey and Jimmy should not be difficult for a dominant force like Super Cena. Nor should it be difficult for him to face Solo and Sami Zayn.

The challenge would be to face Roman with all of them. But even in the past, Cena has overcome such situations (Eg. Nexus). Moreover, John being the regular among the two and having a better in-ring time would mean Roman could actually lose despite the support. The challenge would be different when The Rock comes into the equation, which could well help Roman get the win.
