20 years ago, when Cena became the world champion for the first time, he showed up with a new theme song, 'The Time is Now' which was sung and produced by himself. John was destined to be the face of the company at the time and laid the stepping stone for the same with a new attire and theme song.
For nearly a decade, John Cena had nearly no change in his character, though there were teases of him turning heel. Now that he has turned heel, there is room for a lot of changes. The Leader of the Cenation Army himself confessed that he was about to turn heel during his feud against The Rock in 2012.
Will John Cena's 2012-planned heel customs get executed?
Cena claimed that there were different catchphrases, merchandise, and a new theme song he had prepared for himself to embrace his new role. However, the plans were not executed due to the risk factor. However, it might be the right time to execute what was planned.
It would be apt for Cena to enter to the theme song he prepared for himself in 2012. Usually, wrestlers who change characters have a change of theme song. Cena himself had a change of character from Doctor of Thuganomics till 2005 to Super Cena from then on.
It makes total sense for John to change his merchandise and catchphrases, as they no longer hold well for the bad guy he is. Fans are already interested to see how his heel turn pans out. If not for the change in dress sense, fans are hoping for at least a change in the theme song, which is very much essential in a heel turn.
