Pat McAfee returns to WWE commentary at Saturday night's main event

Pat McAfee was excited to be witnessing Saturday Night's Main Event, as he joined Michael Cole at ringside. In addition to being announced as a special guest commentator, his presence added a whole new level of significance.

The main event on Saturday night made a comeback to Uniondale's Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Along the way, there were some really significant surprises. After a 16-year break, WWE is returning Saturday Night's Main Event, one of its most recognizable events, to primetime television.

Before its final airing in 2008, the show which included iconic events and moments became a mainstay of WWE television. A new generation of fans will now be able to enjoy top-notch wrestling entertainment as the tradition continues. 

In addition to Joe Tessitore bringing Jese "The Body" Ventura back into the WWE to kick off Saturday night's main event, viewers discovered that the commentary crew that evening had undergone more changes. As soon as the music started, Pat McAfee headed for the ring.

Pat McAfee was excited to be witnessing Saturday Night's Main Event, as he joined Michael Cole at ringside. In addition to being announced as a special guest commentator, his presence added a whole new level of significance to the evening on NBC. Pat McAfee has had a lot on his plate. He has his long-running podcast and College Game Day to worry about. When WWE RAW debuts on the streaming behemoth on January 6, he will also return.

McAfee may join Cole on Raw as its debut on Netflix 

After nearly four months away, McAfee made a comeback to join Cole at ringside for his announcing duties as the Color commentator on the Monday Night Show. Beginning with the January 6th edition of Raw's Netflix premiere, Pat McAfee is expected to make a full-time comeback as an announcer. He now made a one-night appearance on SNME.

McAfee may join Cole on WWE Raw, which is scheduled to debut on Netflix next month. On SmackDown, however, Michael Cole and Corey Graves presently call the action. The return of McAfee to the red brand has fans wondering what this may imply for Raw's current announcers.
