On this day in 2023, CM Punk made an unexpected return to WWE at the Survivor Series. The star wrestler's music hit after the team of Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Randy Orton claimed a win over Drew McIntyre and the Judgement Day. It is regarded as arguably the greatest return in the history of WWE.
The fans went crazy and could not believe the homecoming of Chicago's own, as it was regarded next to impossible by many. When Punk was in the Stamford-based company till 2014, there was a lot of indifference between him and the management. It was why Punk left the company in the first place.

After Cody's team beat Judgement Day, they were celebrating in the ring. Out of nowhere, Punk's music was a hit. The fans lost their voice as they welcomed their star for the first time in over nine years. Punk came out and had a look at the arena. He went to the fans and announced his arrival.
Many could not believe what they had just witnessed. Punk sat down around the entrance area and tried to digest the moment. Considering the magnitude of the return and the fact that many did not expect him to return, Punk's comeback in WWE is regarded as the greatest return in the history of the company.
