'Not interested in wrestling Jey Uso' - Gunther reacts to his WrestleMania 41 opponent (Source: X)
Gunther spoke about facing Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41 in an interview with Mail Sport. The World Heavyweight Champion claimed to be uninterested in taking on the Main Event Jey at WrestleMania. The Ring General wished to face a better opponent and felt Jey was not on his level. Gunther said beating Jey would not help his legacy in any way.

The world champion claimed he was looking for wrestlers who are among the last set of wrestlers on the roster who are slightly better than him. "I'm not interested in wrestling Jey Uso at WrestleMania," said the Ring General as he tried to tarnish the image of Main Event Jey.
Jey won the Men's Royal Rumble and chose Gunther as his WrestleMania opponent. It could be the Mein Event match on the Night One of WrestleMania. Gunther felt it would be nice if he faced such wrestlers, brought them down by an inch, and raised his standards to prove himself to be the best wrestler on the roster.
Gunther's statement against Jey Uso gets mixed opinions from the fans
"I was looking for somebody who is one of the last few remaining guys on the roster that I would say is maybe one step ahead of me, and it would have been nice to be in there with one of them, to bring them down one inch and make a step up," added Gunther in the interview.
Fans gave mixed opinions to Gunther's statement. While some agreed with the Ring General considering the in-ring skills of the Bloodline star, others claimed Jey had improved as a wrestler in the last few weeks. Many felt Gunther could have had a better opponent with a better creative booking.
However, some believed Jey was a worthy opponent due to his reach among the fans. Many felt he could build the hype for his match against Gunther with his story of being an underachieved solo wrestler. Many felt it could help the feud big time and added Gunther might've said it while staying in his character.
