Jon Moxley successfully defended his title against Konosuke Takeshita in the AEW Double or Nothing. The match started with Jon attempting to chop the hell out of Konosuke. He delivered some arm wringers and arm breakers. The Japan-based wrestler returned them with clothesline. He then delivered an arm wringer through the apron to damage the champion. Jon had to regroup himself to be in the match.

The experience of Moxley was handy in the middle. However, his injured arm proved to be a weak point. Takeshita made a good use of it by constantly targeting it. He delivered a bulldog arm breaker and kicked the injured arm. A brainbuster had a huge impact on Jon who still stayed alive in the match. Jon had to get some inspiration for himself to be in the match.

After getting beaten by Konosuke, he got his senses back and fought. He countered an arm leveler and reversed it to a triangle choke. Konosuke tried to be in the natch with an attempt to gouge the eyes. Jon moved out and delivered a powerbomb. Takeshita seemed to be in control but Moxley outfoxed him with a counter Paradigm shift. It cut the knee off.

Death Rider to claim pinfall

Jon delivered a series of kicks and Takeshita returned with a big elbow. Jon tried hard to take out Konosuke who was resilient. The Japanese wrestler was barely surviving at that point. He was badly tired and looked out. Jon made use of the momentum and used his bandage to choke for four count. Moxley aimed to finish the match and delivered a death rider.

Takeshita was not willing to give up and kicked out at two. Moxley was frustrated and brought a steel chair to attack Takeshita. The IGWP Heavyweight Champion delivered a second death rider on a row, this time on the steel chair. Konosuke had no option but to hand a pinfall. An impressive performance from Moxley helped him to defend the title successfully after a gruelling battle.
