Joe Hendry made a massive claim in a recent show. The TNA star said that he would challenge John Cena during his retirement tour. Hendry hoped to beat Moose and four others at Slammiversary 2024 and become the world champion. The Scottish wrestler hoped to have a match with the leader of the Cenation Army before he retires.

Hendry is set to take on the likes of Frankie Kazarian, Josh Alexander, Scott Maclin, Nic Nemeth, and Moose at Slammiversary 2024 for the TNA World title. It would be a good chance for Joe to be the world champion. The format for winning the title at PLE is a 6-man Elimination match. The event is set to take place in Montreal.

Joe gave a reference to John Cena in a couple of social media posts earlier this year. One of them had Cena's image from his WrestleMania XL return. In the other post, Hendry had an edited image where he wore a shirt that had the slogan "I can see you," taking an indirect dig at the 16-time world champion. Fans speculated on their match at some stage.

Chances of John Cena vs Joe Hendry

But in a recent interview, Joe Hendry spoke about an opportunity he got to have a talk with Cena for 10 minutes. Joe claimed that he learned to treat the fans with the conversation. Joe claimed Cena to be one of his favorites growing up. In the last few weeks, he has been appearing on NXT regularly. He could well challenge Cena for the title in NXT.

The fans are also speculating Joe to challenge John in a PLE. By 2025, Hendry would have appeared on the main rosters like Raw and Smackdown. If he manages to live up to the hype, there is a chance of him featuring in the PLEs. It could be the best way to present the biggest face of the company to the most 'over' wrestler in the industry today.
