CM Punk recently spoke about his stint in AEW and the potential return of AJ Lee. The voice of the voiceless felt he was not valued enough by some people in AEW. Punk felt people in WWE understand the business more than those in AEW and hence value him more. He further felt the decision on AJ returning to WWE was not in his hands.
Punk claimed that he felt like some of his matches were wasted on the people who neither understood the business nor appreciated him for his efforts. "I feel like I wasted some matches on some people, for sure. But that is what it is, some people understand the business some people don’t, and you know, I think everybody here understands the business," said CM Punk.
Punk's return to Wrestling was a phenomenon. In 2014, he quit WWE and tried to make a name for himself in UFC. It was not successful and Punk made it upon his mind to return to Wrestling. He made his AEW debut on Rampage in 2021 and stayed in the company for nearly three years.
'She’ll let us know' - CM Punk on AJ Lee's return
Due to the altercation, he had with Jack Perry after AEW 'All In', Punk was suspended from the company. He eventually left AEW and made a massive return to WWE later in the year at the Survivor Series War Games. Talking about the return, he felt if AJ Lee returns, it might be bigger than his.
"She 100% supersedes me, it’s the fun thing about wrestling fans — they look for stuff that necessarily isn’t there but I think that’s kind of the fun of it," said Punk in the interview. He addressed the situation with Lee and felt she would let everyone know of her return in case she made up her mind.
"If she wraps up some stuff she’s working on, and she has the time and she feels like dipping her toes back in the pool, she’ll let us know," added Punk.
