  • Some WWE Superstars and Triple H have destroyed Kayfabe among Wrestling fans lately
  • Heels like The Rock, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and John Cena have maintained their personal-life persona outside the ring
  • Seth, Cody Rhodes, and others have given some statements that have spoiled the purpose of storytelling

WWE and many of its wrestlers have destroyed Kayfabe since the company has had a deal with Netflix. Heels like The Rock, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and John Cena have maintained their personal-life persona outside the ring. Likewise, some of the statements from Cody Rhodes, Seth, Cena, Triple H, and others have spoiled the purpose of storytelling.

It all started when The Rock showed up on WWE Raw's Netflix Premiere, not as the Final Boss, but as one of the TKO members. He broke the story between him and Cody Rhodes, gave him the flowers for carrying the company on his back, and ended their enmity. The Rock then addressed the hate he got for doing it on WWE NXT later that week.

The Final Boss asked for Cody's soul in the lead-up to the Elimination Chamber. As Rhodes refused, Cena cashed in by turning heel to join forces with the Rock. In the Press Conference, he claimed to be The Final Boss in the ring and a member of TKO outside of it, thereby switching between the roles of heels and faces every now and then.

Triple H expressed his anger against some of the fans who try to voice their opinions and alter WWE stories. Hunter felt WWE shouldn't listen to them and write scripts as per the plans. He also fumbled his response to R-Truth getting fired, only to be called back as Ron Killings, which led to huge outrage on social media.

How John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens broke Kayfabe?

John Cena, after winning his 17th world title at WrestleMania 41, showed up on Pat McAfee's show and did something a heel was not supposed to. He broke his character, interacted well with the fans, behaved sweetly with them, unlike his on-screen persona, and ensured Kayfabe was broken outside of the ring.

Cena also enjoyed his time with the fans at the Fanatics Fest and broke his on-screen persona. His WrestleMania 41 opponent, Cody, answered one of the questions in the event about his heel turn. Rhodes claimed he might not remain the Babyface forever and would turn heel in the next 2-3 years if the fans decide to turn against him.

Cody also happened to interview Kevin Owens, with whom he had a feud from October 2024 to February 2025. While KO was injured and is likely to be out of action for many months, it was not ideal for Cody to interview with him just a few months after their feud. Notably, Cody also interviewed Damian Priest, against whom he had a match on SmackDown the following night for the King of the Ring tournament qualification.

Likewise, Seth Rollins, in one of his interviews, opened up on his faction featuring Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman. The Visionary openly declared that their faction could end when Bron and Bronson don't feel the need to align with them anymore. While these are facts, such instances have broken Kayfabe, which has been criticised by fans repeatedly.
