Cody Rhodes was asked about his heel turn in a recent talk with Kay Adams during the Fanatics Fest. The American Nightmare was happy to be in the fest and opened up on his heel turn. Speaking to the Good Morning Football host, Cody agreed that his face run has been towards the tail end of it, as fans might start turning against him.
The WWE Superstar understood the need for a change in character, although he wished to remain the same forever. Cody spoke about how people like 'cool heels' and referred to John Cena's current run as the bad guy, where he has been cheered by the fans despite being clearly against them for their past reception of him.

"You'll know because X and Instagram will hate it. Because today, heels are like, 'Oh, that’s a cool heel. We're loving John Cena's No. If you’re burying it and hate it and talking about how you don't want it on your TV? That's what an actual bad guy is," the American Nightmare added in the conversation.

"I don’t get tired of it, because you get to have all of this and these moments. I do think we’re probably at the tail end of it, though… Cause there's only so much someone can like you. I would love to do it until the end of my career. But there's only so much, 'We do his WOAH, we cheer for him.' At a certain point, they want to see somebody else. I get that, and that’s where you have to change as a character," said Cody Rhodes.
"If The Rock had it his way, I would have been changed already" - Cody Rhodes
Cody felt he could remain the baby face for the next three years, at maximum. He addressed The Rock's motive to turn heel, which happened even during the lead-up to the Elimination Chamber in his feud against Cena. While Cody personally did not see what value he could bring to the table as a heel, he felt it would be good to go with the Final Boss' instincts.

"I think you have a good solid year, maybe even three years… because I am not changing until I'm changed, if that makes any sense. But if The Rock had it his way, I would have been changed already, so I think he sees something that maybe I don't see, and that’s a very smart individual. So maybe I follow his lead. Maybe not," added Rhodes.
