History to be created in NXT Battleground as new champion will be crowned

NXT Battleground is set to witness history. The first-ever Women's North American Champion is set to be crowned in the upcoming PLE. As announced by the NXT GM, It will be a 6-pack ladder match. The event is set to take place in the UFC Arena, the first such collaboration of WWE with UFC. The qualification matches for the event are taking place on NXT.

This week on the yellow brand, there were two qualifying matches. Thea Hail and Fallon Henley were up against each other. The two were regarded as the favourites to win. Their match turned out to be good. Neither of them had any advantage throughout the game. The fans enjoyed the match. Just when Henley aimed to use a steel chair, Ridge Holland stopped her from doing so.

The referee thought that it was Holland and Chase U who intended to use the steel chair to hand the advantage to Hail. Hence, they were sent outside the ringside by the referee. Thea lacked confidence from there on and lost the match to Henley. After the match, Hail was disappointed and Jazmyn Nyx attacked her from behind and delivered Pelé Kick.

Jaida Parker qualifies for NXT Battleground

In the other match on the night, Cheerful Brinley Reece took on Jaida Parker. The OTM claimed a win by pinning Reece. The match was even Stevens for the most part. But when Edris Enofe and Malik Blade joined the ringside, it seemed like Brinley got a bit low on confidence. The two winners have rejoined the likes of Sol Ruca and Lash Legend who won their respective matches last week.

Booker T believed that it did play a role in the loss of Reece who looked confident till that point in the match. In the next week, two more matches are scheduled to take place. The winners will progress to the PLE where they will be a part of the massive ladder match. The NXT universe will finally get a mid-card title for the women's division, which was essential.
