Fans showed their love and disapproval for John Cena at the same time after turning heel. There were chants of 'Let's go, Cena! Cena Sucks!' on WWE Raw and NXT Roadblock. As Cody Rhodes addressed Cena's attack on him, fans came up with the chants on Raw. As Oba Femi delivered Attitude Adjustment to Moose at NXT Roadblock, fans reignited the chants.

On WWE Raw earlier this week, Cody reacted to Cena's heel turn for the first time. Before the American Nightmare could say anything about it, he took the name of the Leader of the Cenation Army. Just John's name received mixed reactions from the fans. While some cheered, others booed, followed by 'Let's go, Cena! Cena Sucks!' chants.

On NXT Roadblock, Oba gave a small tribute to John by delivering an Attitude Adjustment to his opponent, Moose. Soon after the sequence, the chants of 'Let's go, Cena! Cena Sucks!' broke out. In the process, fans expressed their love and disapproval for Cena at the same time.

The significance of 'Let's go, Cena! Cena Sucks!' chants

Cena was the top guy in the company for a long time. In 2005, the star wrestler became the world champion for the first time by beating JBL. Since then, there was no looking back for him, as John remained in the world title scenario for nine straight years. In 2015, Cena was reduced to the mid-card for the first time since 2005.

Many felt John was overbooked in the period 2005-14, as his character got stale, and neither was a change in his character, nor was there a major push for other stars. WWE went from the Ruthless Aggression Era to the PG Era, which brought a younger audience to the business.

Kids and women loved Cena. However, older fans hated the fact that it was all about Cena for a long time. While kids and women chanted 'Let's go, Cena!', others chanted 'Cena Sucks!'. Those chants stopped when John moved for Hollywood, but returned when he turned heel at the Elimination Chamber.
